Description

Hands-on experience in Plastics and Metal Engineering Technology (Injection Modeling, Metal Forming) and Experience of designing & developing plastic and Sheet metal components for automotive applications.
Interior Automotive experience preferably in IP, DP, CCB, Air Vents.
Hands on experience in tooling (Die, Press/Injection Mold/Die-cast) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design for durability, assembly, aftermarket and corrosion. Ensures that designs meet the structural and ergonomic requirements as defined by the customer and any market regulations.
Conduct regular design reviews to assure that designs meet required specifications.
Work closely with manufacturing, quality control and purchasing for the implementation of new products.
Work with suppliers to coordinate prototyping activities and to insure design expectations are met.
To develop, maintain & communicate a common way of working concerning a clear & easy understandable product structure.
Experience of working with suppliers to lead the development activities with a good level of product development cycle understanding.
Experience with vehicle products design and manufacturing industry.

Skills

Checking fixture knowledge.
Tolerance calculation and Quality Tools (FMEA, RCA, Risks).
Automotive product development knowledge, dimensional management.
Experience of product development within exterior environment such as Bumper system, Ingress/Egress system, Front under-run protection system of commercial vehicles and/or cars.
Vehicle Regulatory knowledge (FMVSS, ECE, AIS) will be an added advantage.
